Children's ministries: FAQs

What are SPLASH's objectives?
• To share the saving grace of Jesus Christ in a creative, fun and authentic environment.
•To encourage CWC families as they raise their children and to encourage them as they teach their children God's ways.
•Model respect and challenge the children to respect God, family and friends.
•Teach the foundations of what it means to have a personal, authentic and passionate relationship with Jesus Christ.
•Encourage them to learn and know God's word and help them understand that the Bible is the only truth and is God's way of speaking to His children.

How can I be reached if a situation arises with my child?
One pager per family is available upon request. The Children's Welcome Center will keep a comprehensive record of all children and which pager the corresponding guardian has checked out. The pagers will only be used in the case of a situation requiring parental intervention.

Where do I take my child?
There are different classrooms for different ages. A SPLASH volunteer will be happy to show you to your child's classroom.

My child has food allergies, what kinds of snacks do you provide?
Please take the time to notify us of what food allergies your child has, and we will make sure not to serve applicable snacks to your child.

Are criminal background checks done on volunteers who work with the children?
Yes, we complete a criminal history report on each volunteer that comes through children's ministry.

What are the children doing while I am in church?
The children during the 9:00 am service are in children's church. During the 10:30 service they move to Sunday School.

Is there a mid-week program for children?
Yes, the children's ministry staff offers Club SPLASH for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade on Wednesday evenings.

Do you have a wellness policy?
Yes. Please help keep our nursery safe by only bringing healthy children. Do not leave your child in the nursery if he/she has had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours:
• Runny nose with colored discharge
• Fever : A temperature greater than 99 degrees
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Inflamed mouth or throat
• Open sores
• Contagious disease (chicken pox, pink eye)
• Coughing/sneezing
• Chest congestion/labored breathing
• Listlessness/unusual fatigue or irritability/excessive crying
• Other obvious signs of illness
• If your child is taking antibiotics, he/she should have received treatment for at least 48 hours before coming to church, even if the symptoms are no longer present. Nursery policy prohibits volunteers from administering any medications.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email or phone Jil Mazellan.
